Where Is My Prescription?

A patient's guide to the mail-order & specialty pharmacies we use — and why we use them

Chain pharmacies aren't always the cheapest — or the easiest. To save you money and hassle, I often send prescriptions to independent and mail-order pharmacies that ship directly to your door, help apply manufacturer coupons, and fight for lower prices. At your visit, we'll tell you which pharmacy received your prescription. Find it below to see what happens next.
Local Independent • Ships Statewide

Mountain View Pharmacy

Bountiful, Utah  |  (801) 295-3439

What to expect: After we send your prescription electronically, their team will reach out by call or text to collect your insurance and payment information and arrange free shipping or pickup.

Your job: Answer that call or text! If you haven't heard from them within 1–2 business days, give them a ring at the number above.

Local Independent • Ships Statewide

Meier's Pharmacy

Holladay, Utah  |  (801) 679-3278

What to expect: A family-owned Utah pharmacy with excellent pricing on many dermatology medications. They'll contact you to confirm insurance, payment, and whether you'd like delivery or pickup.

Your job: Watch for their call or text. Questions about price or timing? Call them directly — a real human answers.

Specialty Mail-Order

CarePoint Pharmacy

Schaumburg, Illinois  |  (855) 237-9112

What to expect: CarePoint specializes in dermatology medications. They automatically apply manufacturer coupons and discount programs to get your copay as low as possible, then ship your medication to your home for free.

Your job: They will call or text to confirm your address and payment before shipping. Respond promptly so your medication isn't delayed — or call them at the number above.

Digital Mail-Order

PhilRx

Online pharmacy platform  |  (855) 977-0975

What to expect: Shortly after we e-prescribe, PhilRx will text and email you a secure link. Click it to enroll: enter your insurance and payment info, and they handle the rest — including prior authorizations and manufacturer savings programs. Medications ship to your door with free delivery.

Your job: Watch your texts! The whole sign-up takes about two minutes on your phone. Prefer to enroll by phone or hit a snag? Call the number above.

Transparent Cash Pricing • No Insurance Needed

Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company

costplusdrugs.com  |  Online mail-order

Why I love it: Cost Plus Drugs sells hundreds of generic medications at true cost plus a small, published markup — total transparency, ultra-low cash prices, and no insurance games. Many dermatology generics cost less here than a typical copay.

How to get your medication:

  1. Check the price: Search your medication at costplusdrugs.com/medications.
  2. Create a free account at costplusdrugs.com — note which email address you use.
  3. Tell our office that email address so your prescription matches your account when we e-prescribe it.
  4. Watch your inbox: You'll get an email (usually within 24 hours) confirming they've received your prescription.
  5. Log in and place your order. Your medication ships straight to your door.
Optional • By Request

Amazon Pharmacy

amazon.com/pharmacy  |  Online mail-order

What to expect: If you prefer Amazon, just ask — we're happy to send your prescription there. Sign in with your existing Amazon account at amazon.com/pharmacy, add your insurance (optional) and payment info, and confirm your order when the prescription arrives. Prime members get free delivery, and Amazon shows both insurance and cash prices so you can pick the cheaper one.

Three Quick Tips

  • Answer unknown numbers and texts for a few days after your visit — it's probably your pharmacy, and responding quickly means your medication ships sooner.
  • Compare before you pay. If a price surprises you, call the pharmacy (or our office) before filling. There's almost always a cheaper path.
  • Refills: Contact the pharmacy directly first — they can usually request refills from us on your behalf.
  • Still stuck? Text our nurse line at 801-776-7129 and we'll help sort it out.
