About Neurotoxins
Botox, Dysport, Jeuveau, Xeomin, Daxxify, and Letybo are all neurotoxins — proteins that temporarily relax the muscles responsible for dynamic wrinkles (the lines caused by repeated expressions like squinting, frowning, and raising your brows). When those muscles relax, the skin above stops folding — existing lines soften and new ones are prevented from forming.
All of these products are safe, effective, and FDA-approved. The differences are subtle — slightly different onset times, diffusion patterns, and molecular sizes — but for most patients the results are essentially equivalent.
A newer, aesthetics-focused toxin. Similar onset and duration to Botox. Often a good option for patients who've developed resistance to other products.
The original and most widely studied neurotoxin. Onset in 3–7 days, full effect at 10–14 days. The gold standard against which others are measured.
Each has subtle differences in diffusion and onset. If you have a preference or have reacted to a specific product, let us know. Switching products often restores effectiveness if resistance develops.

The Botox Bank — Pre-Pay for a Better Rate
The Botox Bank lets you lock in a lower per-unit price by paying in advance. Credits are valid for 18 months from your deposit date.

Before Your Appointment
Reduce Bruising Risk — Optional but Helpful
Bruising is the most common side effect, caused by the needle nicking a small blood vessel. For 3–5 days before your appointment:
- Avoid ibuprofen, naproxen, and aspirin (unless prescribed — don't stop a prescribed medication without talking to your doctor)
- Avoid fish oil, vitamin E, and flaxseed oil supplements
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before
- Arnica gel or supplements before and after can help if you're prone to bruising
These are recommendations, not requirements. Many patients skip them entirely and have no bruising at all.
Arrive with Clean Skin
- No makeup, moisturizer, or sunscreen on the treatment areas
- Dr. Innes will clean the skin before injecting, but starting clean makes the process faster
No Recent Facial Treatments
- Avoid laser treatments, chemical peels, or microneedling within 1 week before your appointment
What to Expect During the Appointment
- The injection process takes 5–15 minutes depending on how many areas are treated
- You'll feel small pinches — most patients find it very tolerable
- Some areas (like the crow's feet) are more sensitive than others
- Small bumps at injection sites immediately after are normal — they resolve within 20–30 minutes
- You can return to most normal activities immediately
After Your Appointment
Do These Things
- Stay upright for 4 hours — no lying down
- Gently move the treated muscles for the first hour (raise brows, squint) — may help distribute the product
- Apply arnica gel to any bruised areas
Avoid These for 24–48 Hours
Lying down for 4 hours after your appointment
Strenuous exercise on the day of your appointment
Rubbing or applying pressure to treated areas
Saunas, steam rooms, hot yoga, or very hot showers
Laser treatments, chemical peels, or facials for 2 weeks after
Alcohol for 24 hours after (increases bruising risk)
What to Expect: Results
Days 3–5
Most patients start noticing movement reduce. Don't judge your result yet — the product is still setting in.
Day 10–14
Full effect visible. This is when to assess your result. If anything looks off — asymmetry, an area that didn't respond — text us for a touch-up.
Months 3–4
Results gradually wear off as the muscle regains activity. Most patients schedule their next appointment before the toxin has fully worn off.
Dr. Innes' Philosophy on Dosing
I recommend a follow-up at 2 weeks to check symmetry and the level of muscle relaxation. Touch-up units at that visit are provided at a discounted rate. My preference is always to go minimal and natural first — you can always add more, but you can't take it back. The 2-week check-in is how we dial it in together.
⚠ Please Don't Judge Your Result at Day 3
The product is still settling in. Wait the full 2 weeks before deciding whether a touch-up is needed. First-time patients sometimes metabolize it slightly faster — if results seem shorter than expected, let us know and we'll adjust dosing next time.
